Fusion Lifestyle, the parent company of Active Life, is delighted to announce that we’ve linked up with Freemotion Fitness to equip our brand-new expanded gym experience at Kingsmead Pools & Fitness.
We’re counting down to the launch this autumn of our £8m renovation project set to transform the leisure experience in Canterbury – and our new, larger gym will be taking centre stage.
Freemotion is a division of iFIT Health and Fitness – a global fitness and technology leader that’s been in business for more than 40 years. The partnership is part of a three-year deal with Fusion Lifestyle, the parent company of Active Life.
Freemotion is equipping our new fitness centre with a range of the latest and most innovative cardio-fitness equipment available today in the UK, perfect for getting you warmed up and ready for the best workout – on your own or with the help of a real or virtual coach.
Members will be able to load their own workouts using Google Maps or choose from one of 18,000 workouts available on the iFIT platform, whether that’s skiing in Utah, climbing the pyramids in Egypt on an incline trainer, cycling around the Bahamas or completing the London Marathon on the CV equipment.
The intention is also to create destination spaces for personal fitness but also for small group training as well – with the latest GENESIS and GENESIS DS machines providing a powerful platform to take your fitness up a gear. Most of the equipment is inclusive with wheelchair accessibility.
The brief for the team at Freemotion was to create a gym with the wow factor for all stages – from the capabilities of the cardio-vascular machines to free weights and stretching spaces.
And it will be ready for the future too as Freemotion puts the final touches to Tailor, its new innovative AI Coach, that will add a whole new dimension to personalised fitness training over the coming months.
Richard Allan, Operations Director at Fusion Lifestyle, the parent company for Active Life, said:
“We’re delighted to announce that we’re linking up with Freemotion, one of the UK’s biggest and most innovative names in health and fitness, to power our new look gym.
“The new fitness equipment that we’ll be installing will be some of the most innovative, immersive and inclusive that is available right now in the UK, helping all our members to achieve their fitness goals.
“The signing of this contract is an exciting and important step in a project set to deliver an unrivalled health and fitness experience for the people of Canterbury.”
Blake Fletcher, UK and Ireland Country Manager at iFIT and Freemotion Fitness, said: “We’re excited to be bringing Freemotion Fitness to Kingsmead Pools & Fitness.
“We’re also delighted to be partnering with a company that shares our passion for innovation and personalised experience – gym membership in Canterbury is going to the next level.
“Using our equipment members will be able to travel the world with 18,000 workouts across 120 different countries with 250 trainers – from cycling around Costa Rica to skiing in Utah.
“We’re looking to hyper personalise the exercise experience including embracing the power of AI and customers at Kingsmead Pools & Fitness will be among the first in the UK to benefit from that.”
“We’re also proud of the social value that we can give back to the wider community by giving access to the iFIT network through our subscription model. Freemotion Fitness opens up the world with customers able to access other brands on the iFIT platform on their mobile devices, at the gym or at home.”
